Biography: |

Craig T. Nelson started out his
career as a comedy writer and performer in radio
stations and nightclubs in Los Angeles area. Success
was not immediately coming, and Nelson took a four
year time off from show business, moving with his
family to a remote lodge in Northern California.
Nelson made his film debut in And Justice For All
(1979), followed by
starring roles in Poltergeist (1982)
and Silkwood (1983).
But he finally found his true fame on television
when he starred as a college athletics instructor
Hayden Fox on the top ranked sitcom Coach for eight
seasons starting from 1989. For his work on the
show, Nelson received an Emmy Award in 1992.
Nelson next appeared in a few small roles in films
and television mini series before taking a leading
role on the police drama The District (2000)
which became a hit. |
