Initially pursuing a career in dentistry,
Kim Joeng-Hoon debuted as a member of Korean duo
UN (United N-generation)
in 1999. After six years of success, the duo officially
announced that they are disbanding in September
2005, and Kim announced that he was going to pursue
an acting career instead. He had stated that considering
the conditions of the Korean music industry prevented
him from pursuing music he truly wanted to do.
By 2005, Kim had already begun starring in Korean
dramas, such as sitcom Orange. He had said his final
dream is to become a renowned movie director.
Kim also became famous for his academic performance
when his high school report cards have revealed
that he received A's in every subject thus making
him the top of his class and also among the peers
in his grade.
In 1998, Kim was accepted to Seoul National University
where he studied dentistry. However, he dropped
out in 2003 when he determined that dentistry would
not help him in his career. This led to controversy
as some disputed his account and claimed that he
was expelled by the University for maintaining a
low GPA.
Kim is now a senior in Chung-Ang University where
he majors Japanese language and acting. He has said
he wants to attend art school to improve his acting.
