Biography:

Emily Procter was born on 8 October 1968, in Raleigh, North Carolina to a general practitioner father, William, and a volunteer mother, Barbara, who divorced when Emily was two years old.

Emily landed a job as a weather anchor for a local CBS affiliate while studied at East Carolina University, majoring in Journalism and Dance. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles and landed a number of small roles on television sitcoms and dramas such as Lois and Clark, and Friends.

Emily made her film debut in Leaving Las Vegas (1995) which was followed by Jerry Maguire (1996), Breast Men (1997), and television series as The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! (1997).

The next two years was a busy year for Emily, as she had supporting roles in Guinevere (1999) and the Scottish film The Big Tease (1999). She also starred in Body Shots (1999), playing a member of a group of friends looking for love and sex in pre-millennial Los Angeles.

Emily then got a chance to audition for The West Wing and got a part as Ainsley Hayes. She later appeared on one episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation which led to a role as Calleigh Duquesne on the television series CSI: Miami.
