Biography:
The male vocal group NSYNC emerged
from Orlando, Florida. Though formed in 1996, their
roots trace back much earlier to singers JC Chasez
and Justin Timberlake, who together previously co-starred
on The Mickey Mouse Club before later moving to
Nashville, where they worked on solo projects.
Justin Timberlake soon returned to Orlando, where
he met Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone. With JC
Chasez, they formed a band, and with the joining
of James Lance Bass, NSYNC was complete.
NSYNC initially released their debut album, *NSYNC,
on BMG Ariola Munich and soon became an overnight
success throughout Europe. The singles ‘I
Want You Back’ and ‘Tearing
Up My Heart’ became major hits. In
the spring of 1998, the album was released in the
United States and became a hit as well. Their Christmas
album, Home for Christmas, was released later that
same year.
In the spring of 2000, NSYNC broke sales records
with their second album, No Strings Attached, which
sold almost 2.5 million copies in its first week
of release. Their third album, Celebrity, was released
in summer 2001.
